PM Modi to launch BHIM-Aadhaar app today, push Indians towards ‘less-cash’


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally launch a mobile application platform based in Aadhaar for traders as well as two incentive schemes on April 14 to push Indians towards a "less cash" economy and curb the generation of money black.
                                                                                    




Developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) mobile app is based on the Unified Payment Interface (UI) and will be launched on the 126th birthday of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, A PMO said the statement.After the November 8 announcement to take off Rs 15.44 lakh crore of high value-added notes, the Modi government has put together a schema after a schema designed to dissuade Indians from processing cash and switching to digital transactions.In December 2016, Modi launched the BHIM application to facilitate electronic payments by consumers.
